Dedicated Micros Goes Thermal With NEW Infiniti Model
Dedicated Micros (part of AD Group) announces the launch of the Infiniti Thermal, an extremely capable integrated PTZ camera and Thermal Imaging Unit
 |
The unveiling of the Infiniti Thermal marks a significant milestone for Dedicated Micros as the first time it has brought to market thermal imaging in a camera product.
Click image for the DM website |
The new Infiniti Thermal comprises a standard CCTV camera, Thermal Imaging Unit, screen wiper/washer control and an integrated pan and tilt mechanism ~ all in one robust package. A major operational advantage of the Infiniti Thermal is the side-by-side positioning of the CCTV camera and thermal imager, in the same housing. Crucially, this layout means that operators, in practice, will be able to readily access and view standard CCTV and thermal images of the same scene, a capability which is supported by the Infiniti Thermal's ability to transmit multiple, simultaneous video streams in MPEG4 and JPEG images.
Looking specifically at the Thermal Imaging Unit, this has been designed to deliver outstanding performance for night vision, heat sensing and surveillance applications, including the ability to allow users to see what is going on even in testing conditions such as haze, dust, fog and smoke. Featuring an uncooled high resolution sensor, an athermally stabilised lens and a choice of focal lengths, the thermal imaging unit can potentially detect human-sized heat sources at a range of up to 900 metres. This makes it ideal for long-range surveillance and early warning systems.
Turning to the CCTV camera module of the Infiniti Thermal, this comes with 36x optical zoom and offers 530TVL and 0.01 Lux (Mono) sensitivity and has an excellent field of view for day-to-day surveillance operations. Additionally, with privacy masks, presets and patrols the Infiniti Thermal solution has all the functionality of a precision dome but with the added benefit of its integrated capabilities, in particular the thermal imaging unit.
When it comes to coping with the environment, the Infiniti Thermal is well protected with a built-in camera shield to cope with sun glare and rain, an IP66 enclosure and the CCTV camera element has optically flat toughened glass and a wash/wipe system to ensure that the camera offers the best possible visibility at all times. The Thermal Imaging Unit features a germanium window for thermal accuracy and a diamond-hard anti-scratch coating for environmental protection.
Additionally, compatibility of the Infiniti Thermal with the latest generation of Dedicated Micros' DVRs and Video Servers unlocks advanced camera functionality including Point&Go and Absolute Positioning. In the case of Point&Go, this provides operators on-screen telemetry control whilst Absolute Positioning use the on-screen Camera Selection Maps, of a connected DVR, to select with the click of a mouse a camera and move it to view an area of a site.
 |
Pauline Norstrom, Director of Worldwide Marketing at Dedicated Micros, said: "The combination of a standard CCTV camera and Thermal Imaging Unit makes the Infiniti Thermal an extremely attractive proposition to enhance the surveillance of large-scale sites, especially to monitor the perimeter or specific high value assets. The thermal capability allows a much more extensive area to be covered by one unit, crucially, the ability to see suspicious activity simultaneously in conventional and thermal images means that there is the potential to pick-out detail which would not necessarily be apparent from a single type of sensor" |
