The SMS TextAlert Module enables the user to receive and transmit text messages to the Bold Gemini alarm monitoring system from any standard mobile phone.

The SMS TextAlert uses the ordinary single GSM SMS service for transmitting messages from the Bold system to the mobile phones. The signal strength and availability of network will decide how reliable and fast the communications would be. The system can be used to communicate with up to 25 users at a time.

The user can send a text message from his mobile phone to an alarm receiving centre at the control room. The SMS is then passed to the alarm queue for the operator to handle it. The alarm handling screen will display the mobile phone number, the subscriber’s record and action types if the message comes from a known cell phone number.

The new SMS TextAlert Module feature of the Gemini alarm management software can be used for a wide array of applications such as sending of messages to single or a group of database contacts, requesting assistance in the event of any emergency, sending of text alarms to alarm receiving centre from mobile phones by the lone workers, and also for reporting vandalism, anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping or damage to roadside furniture.

The SMS TextAlert Module is designed to benefit the growing number of Gemini users, having already been implemented by a rail network company and a London Borough, and is a significant enhancement to Bold’s integrated management software.
